Client Overview

Client is a private Midwest based family investment office, interested in acquiring a national distributor of broadband network materials – fiber optic cables, handholes, pipe, aerial hardware, and more.

Situation

The client was going through the due diligence for a potential acquisition and needed a comprehensive IT due diligence performed, covering a current state technology and risk assessment plus a forward-looking analysis of short- to long-term technology investments needed to enable the client’s growth thesis.

Our Engagement

Aberdeen was engaged to work closely with the target’s IT leadership team and the client’s deal team to perform an assessment of target’s current state IT organization through a people, process, and technology lens and develop a forward-looking prioritized roadmap that proposes initiatives to enable Millennium’s growth

  • Full assessment of target’s technology aspects for due diligence to identify risks:

  • Evaluation of organization, process documentation and IT policies

  • Review of network and server infrastructure plus end-user devices and client hardware

  • Defined short- / mid- / long-term investment opportunities

  • Identified code quality risks related to custom applications and determined a plan to remediate the risks

  • Evaluated target’s sales tools including inside/outside sales coordination, and automating order entry (including integrating with ERP)
